The cheetah
The cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus) is a large and magnificent cat native to Africa and central Iran. It is considered the fastest land animal, reaching speeds of up to 128 km/h when in full sprint. They are actually build for speed by having light bones, long tails and a proper streamline. These four individuals in the photo where seen hiding from the midday sun at Kruger National Park, South Africa. I have to confess that the cheetah is on my top 5 animals. To be able to see these creatures in close sight was pure happiness for me!
A chita (Acinonyx jubatus) é um grande e magnífico gato nativo da África e do Irã central. É considerado o animal terrestre mais rápido, atingindo velocidades de até 128 km/h quando em plena perseguição. Eles são realmente construídos para a velocidade por terem ossos leves, caudas longas e uma linha aerodinâmica especial. Estes quatro indivíduos na foto foram vistos escondidos do sol do meio-dia no Parque Nacional Kruger, África do Sul. Tenho que confessar que a chita está entre os "top 5" da minha lista de animais. Poder ver estas criaturas de perto foi pura felicidade para mim!
