plastic pollution
Pollution is increasing much faster than we all expected. Still, the speed that it's happening is not enough for us to rethink and change our habits. In my life time, I have been able to experience a sad and drastic change in our oceans and beaches. 30 years ago when I was just a kid, I remember that the only thing I found at the beach was sand and shells. Today, people still find sand and an ocasional shell, but also find tons of plastics and many other kinds of garbage! In my humble opinion, that's not the worst. The worst is that we are getting used to it and we are doing nothing! Bring a bag next time you go to the beach, and bring it back full with beach garbage. Try to be part of the solution and not the problem. Lets not get used to garbage everywhere!
A poluição está aumentando muito mais rápido do que todos nós esperávamos. Ainda assim, a velocidade com que isso está acontecendo não é suficiente para nós repensarmos e mudarmos nossos hábitos. Durante meu curto tempo de vida, percebi uma mudança entristecedora e drástica em nossos oceanos e praias. Há 30 anos atrás, quando eu era apenas uma criança, lembro-me que as únicas coisas que eu encontrava na praia eram areia e conchas. Hoje, ainda encontramos areia e às vezes uma concha, mas também toneladas de plásticos e todo tipo de lixo! Na minha humilde opinião, isso não é o pior. O pior é que estamos nos acostumando com isso e não estamos fazendo nada! Leve uma sacola da próxima vez que fores à praia e trague-a de volta cheia de lixo. Tente fazer parte da solução e não do problema. Não podemos nos acostumar com lixo em todo lugar!
