The historic Inca site of Machu Picchu is not only know for its history and beauty, but also for the fantastic nature that is found in its surroundings. The mild climate and constant rains makes this area the perfect habitat for thousands of species of plants and a great variety of animals. The site was originally build to be the emperor's summer retreat. With this view, I completely understand why he chose this site!
