Corfu Island
The island of Corfu is located in the northwest coast of the Ionian Sea. It is defined by its rugged mountains and its resort-studded shoreline. Its cultural heritage reflects years spent under Venetian, French and British rule before it was united with Greece in 1864. Today, Corfu still a favorite destination for thousands of British tourists, who fill the dozens of beaches and tourist spots. My tips: go off-season, rent a car and drive around the island!
