Amblyrhynchus cristatus ... what?
The Amblyrhynchus cristatus, a.k.a. marine iguana, is a species of iguana found only in the Galápagos Islands. They feed almost exclusively on algae found in the intertidal zone, however, large males can dive to find fresh algae mats. They can be found everywhere in the shores of Galápagos, and sometimes you can even stumble on them on a street, or while snorkelling. But their best characteristics is that they are always smiling!!!
O Amblyrhynchus cristatus, também conhecido como iguana marinha, é uma espécie de iguana encontrada apenas nas Ilhas Galápagos. Eles se alimentam quase exclusivamente de algas encontradas na zona intertidal, no entanto, grandes machos podem mergulhar para encontrar tapetes de algas frescas. Eles podem ser encontrados em toda área costeira de Galápagos, e às vezes você pode até tropeçar neles em uma rua, ou ao mergulhar. Mas sua melhor característica é que eles estão sempre sorrindo!!!
